A cover for the car, freestanding or placed against the house.

A fully enclosed glass extension used as additional living space.

A veranda with a flat roof, clean lines and a robust look, available in anthracite and black.

The gutter at the front of the veranda that drains rainwater. Round or classic straight as standard.

A wall of glass panels that slide open and closed along a rail, to enclose a veranda fully or partly.

A complete set of parts for installing a veranda, patio cover or carport yourself, with an installation manual.

Two glass panes with a film between them that holds the fragments together if the glass breaks. Our glass roofs are 44.2 laminated safety glass (8 mm).

A milky-white version of polycarbonate or glass that lets light through but diffuses direct sunlight.

A cover over the patio, usually attached to the house, with a glass or polycarbonate roof.

A light, impact-resistant plastic roof panel. We use multi-wall, UV-resistant 16 mm panels in clear, opal or heat-reflecting opal.

The vertical column carrying the roof and gutter. At Valk Veranda the post is flush with the back of the gutter so the gutter cannot tilt.

The boundary between your plot and your neighbours'. Building on or close to the boundary is subject to rules on height and distance.

An international colour code. Our verandas come in anthracite (RAL 7016), cream (RAL 9001) and black (RAL 9005).

A panel with aluminium on both outer faces and an insulating core, for sturdy, clean and better-insulated walls.

Horizontal, overlapping panels for a closed side wall. Our aluminium shiplap panels are 16 mm thick and 160 mm high.

A fabric screen that keeps out the sun. Above the roof the fabric sits over the glass and blocks the sun; below the roof it hangs under it for soft light and privacy.

Glass made stronger by heat treatment that breaks into small pieces. Our glass sliding walls use 10 mm toughened glass.

A covered outdoor space against or apart from the house, with open or fully or partly closed sides.

The triangular opening between the sloping roof and the side wall, which can be closed with glass or polycarbonate (a wedge frame).
